Connecting Creatives Across Four Events

The inaugural Tokyo Poetry Week connects the city’s thriving creative communities across four events through poetry with workshops, readings, book launches, live painting, music, art and more. It marks the 10 year anniversary of the Tokyo Poetry Journal and welcomes slam poetry champions from home and abroad as special guests.

The celebration kicks off with a party at the Den in Koenji on November 12, followed by the Tokyo Poetry Journal Vol. 17: Portraits of Tokyo launch party at Art Atelier Tokyo, Oshiage, on November 15. The latter, which starts at 7 p.m.,  includes readings by contributors and special guests, including slam poetry champion of Japan Miki Yuuri.

On November 19 there is a workshop and reading at the UltraSuperNew Gallery Kura in Shibuya. The next day, people can enjoy ToPoJo at Tokyo Art Tank collaboration, featuring a book and zine market and a performance workshop with Marcellus Nealy. Entrance is free.
