See How the Magic of Kabuki is Produced
Kabuki is a traditional theater form with a history spanning over 400 years, and stands as one of Japan’s precious performative arts.
This special exhibit, hosted at Kabukiza gallery and Kabukiza hall, invites guests to step inside the rich world of kabuki through interactive displays of elaborate stage sets, costumes and props. The exhibit will be centered around Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura (Yoshitsune and the Thousand Cherry Trees), a classic piece considered one of kabuki’s three great masterpieces that has captivated audiences for over 270 years since its premiere.
Three kabuki actor prints depicting the original 1748 performance at Edo’s Nakamura-za will be on display for the first time at the exhibition.
A special ticket that comes with two original postcards featuring scenes from Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura will be available for order exclusively online. Online-booking tickets with no postcards are also available for ¥700 (¥1000 for same-day tickets at the counter).
