Fun! Fun! Halloween with Sunshine City

As part of the Sunshine City Family project, the Sunshine City shopping mall will hold a kid-friendly Halloween event with photo spots, craft workshops, game stalls, a concert and a picture book rally.

With the “Operation Trick or Treat!” event, visitors are encouraged to create their own DIY candy boxes using recycled materials such as milk cartons and event flyers. Children who bring their candy boxes will receive an assortment of candies. Additionally, anyone with a receipt for purchases made at Sunshine City worth ¥500 or more will receive a free ribbon to decorate their candy box. Candy and ribbons will be distributed on October 18, 19, 25, 26 and 31 from 11:00 to 16:00 each day in front of the first floor South Plaza. Don’t have a recycled candy box prepared? Children can also make them through a workshop that will be available on distribution days for a ¥100 participation fee.

The event will also introduce its own original picture book rally. Participants will collect pages scattered throughout the mall to complete a Halloween-themed picture book. The scavenger hunt will be available from October 1 to October 31.

A special Halloween festival will be open on October 18, 19, 25 and 26 from 11:00 to 16:00 at the South Plaza, with game booths including senbonbiki and a shooting gallery. Tickets are ¥200 per stall, and a discount set is available with three tickets for ¥500 (cash only).

On Halloween day, Sunshine City’s Fountain Square will host a free Halloween concert. Performers will be dressed up as ghosts, monsters and other fun characters. Guests are invited to not only enjoy the festive music, but also come dance along with the performers and take photos together in their costumes. There will be four performances, at 11:30, 14:00, 15:30 and 17:00 (each session lasts approximately 30 minutes).
