An invitation-only restaurant from New York is making its first appearance in Japan. JED’s American Bistro is hosted on an irregular basis at the vacation home of Jed Root, an American businessperson who’s been active in the fashion industry for decades. He invites celebrities and serves them original Southern American cuisine based on recipes he’s researched and eaten from all over the world. The high quality of the food has received rave reviews and proved a big hit with actors such as Tom Hardy and Rami Malek, as well as Japanese comedian Naomi Watanabe.

For two weeks, starting on April 5, Tokyo diners can enjoy the pop-up restaurant at The Belcomo, the all-day dining restaurant on the fourth floor of the Aoyama Grand Hotel. The menu features Root’s signature faux-fried chicken dish, penne with roasted garlic and salted lemon, shrimp salad, avocado and tomato layered like a mille-feuille, a crab cake and a mixed berry crumble.
