A Festive Trumpet Fanfare
Following last year’s highly acclaimed Japan tour, Lebanese-born and Paris-raised star trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf will return to the Blue Note Tokyo stage with his powerful ensemble, the Trumpets of Michel-Ange.
Maalouf will lead a unique lineup of trumpeters alongside guitar, bass, saxophone and drums.
Performing on the quarter-tone microtonal trumpet developed by his father, Maalouf has released 19 albums to date and earned two Grammy nominations. He has collaborated with world-class artists including Sting, Wynton Marsalis, Gregory Porter and Marcus Miller, captivating global audiences with a unique style inspired by his Arabic musical roots blended with hip-hop, electronic and jazz influences.
