Infusing traditional Japanese performative art with modern animation, Yurakucho Yomiuri Hall presents Bunraku 1st Session, a perfect first-timer’s introduction to Bunraku, traditional Japanese puppet theater.

During this 60-minute session, guests can watch “The Forest by the Tenjin Shrine” scene from the famed Bunraku piece The Love Suicides at Sonezaki, with an exclusive animated background by Kazuo Oga, a respected Japanese animator. He is well-known for working on My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke and more.
