UK Dub Legends Unite for Anniversary Party
A thrilling dub party has been announced, bringing together three of the biggest legends from the UK dub scene. The long-running event series DUB SESSIONS, curated by Adrian Sherwood — who has been at the forefront of UK dub for decades — is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
In the past, the event has hosted luminaries like Lee “Scratch” Perry and The Slits, and in recent years, it saw an explosive collaboration between African Head Charge and GEZAN, and Horace Andy and On-U Sound’s original band Creation Rebel.
This year, Adrian Sherwood will perform a live dub set with a band, including bassist Doug Wimbish, in support of his first solo album in 13 years, The Collapse of Everything. Mad Professor, a pioneer of ’80s digital dub, will showcase his exceptional mixing techniques in a special live dub show. Finally, the legendary Dennis Bovell, known for his work with Matumbi, The Pop Group, and The Slits, will shake the space with a DJ set.
In addition to the Tokyo show on November 19, there will be a Nagoya show on November 20 at Nagoya Club Quattro, and a Osaka show on November 21 at Gorilla Hall.
