Celebrating 20 Years of Cotton Club

Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers will be performing a tribute concert to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Cotton Club.

This iconic modern jazz group brought up legends including Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter and Wynton Marsalis, and produced classics like “Moanin'” and “Blues March.”

Carl Allen, who was honored by Blakey as an “honorary messenger,” will be performing on the drums. Allen will be joined by former Messengers members Donald Harrison on saxophone, Brian Lynch on trumpet, Robin Eubanks on trombone and Benny Green on piano. Alex Cluffy, an up-and-coming bassist, will also be performing. These musicians, who continue to carry on Blakey’s spirit, will come together to deliver a masterful performance.

There will be a total of eight shows, across four dates. On November 21, the first show will open at 17:00 and start at 18:00. The second show will open at 17:45 and start at 20:30. From November 22 to November 24, the first show will open at 15:30 and start at 16:30. The second show will open at 18:30 and start at 19:30.
