Throw out the calorie counters, the latest New York style eatery on the Tokyo scene ramps up its assault on our arteries – and taste buds – with its new store opening just outside Tokyo Station today, Bubby’s Yaechika.

Here, brunch seems to have been a meal invented not for those who have missed breakfast but, for those who wish to cram in an extra course and do it over coffee with friends. You should probably eschew the granola and fruits and head straight for the pancakes – find your fruit fix under a layer of cream and atop delicious fluffy discs of buttery goodness instead; after all, what fun would eating breakfast out be without a little guilt?

It’s open from 7:30 in the morning and while Bubby’s pancakes do stay on the menu all day, burgers and steaks – with, we’re told, comforting “NYC style” portions – take over but surely it’d be unfair to leave without a slice or two of Mile High Apple Pie? Or Michigan Sour Cherry Pie. Or Banana Mocha pie. Or… well, you get the picture. Release the belt buckles, head to the Yaesu exit of Tokyo station, and enjoy!
