Celebrate the New Year in the Clouds

Celebrate the coming of a new year at over 100 meters aboveground at the Yokohama Marine Tower’s New Year’s Countdown. The tower’s observation deck will host a special event where guests can ring in 2026 in surrounded by a beautiful panoramic view of the city’s dazzling lights. 

Admission into the Marine Tower for the countdown event will begin at 11:20 and last until 11:55. The observation deck will close at 1:00. Tickets will be available for ¥1700 for adults, ¥1100 for elementary and junior high school students and free for preschoolers. Reservations can only be booked online.

The surrounding Yokohama area has several other activities to enjoy leading up to the countdown. The Yorunoyo “Highlights of Yokohama” illumination show is Japan’s largest light show, providing a magical experience with the whole harbor lighting up with colorful lights, projection mapping and music. 

An ice skating park will also open in Yamashita Park as part of the Winter Wonder Park. The park will have seasonal food trucks, DJs, a “Winter Wonder Express” train ride and beautiful illuminations circling the skating rink.

The iconic Yokohama Cosmo Clock 21 ferris wheel will also have a New Year’s countdown display. The ships anchored at Yokohama Port will blow their whistles when the clock strikes midnight.
