Celebrate New Year’s with Mickey and Friends
The Tokyo Disney Resort New Year’s celebration will run from January 1 to January 12, with festive shows, New Year’s decor, seasonal food and drinks, exclusive merchandise and characters dressed in traditional kimono.

Decorations and Photo Spots
Take a photo with the special kadomatsu bamboo decorations at at World Bazaar in Tokyo Disneyland and Passaggio MiraCosta at Tokyo DisneySea from December 27 to January 12. As 2026 marks the zodiac year of the horse, Horase Horsecollar will be featured in decor across the parks.
You can take a commemorative photo in front of the New Year’s decorations with a Disney photographer. A seasonal illustrative frame will be overlayed on top of the photo. Photos taken with official Disney photographers will show up under the “My Photos” tab in the Tokyo Disney Resort app. You can also print your photos at the Digital Photo Express stations.
A New Year’s surprise message will be handed out, mainly for children. These small messages will support and encourage their new challenges and dreams into 2026. To receive a message, ask cast member carrying a New Year’s box.

New Year’s Entertainment at Tokyo Disney Resort
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends will be hosting a New Year’s Greeting parade. The parade, approximately 10 minutes long at DisneySea and 25 minutes long at Disneyland, features Disney characters dressed in traditional Japanese clothing like kimono and hakama.
The parade will take place at Mediterranean Harbor at DisneySea and the park-wide parade route at Disneyland, from January 1 to January 12. Please check the event website for parade times (schedule varies from Disneyland to DisneySea).
There will also be a seasonal fireworks show titled “New Day, New Dreams” from December 26 to January 12.
New Year’s Merchandise at Tokyo Disney Resort
A new merchandise collection will feature various Disney characters styled in with traditional Japanese clothing and design motifs. The collection includes plushies, postcards, pins, towels and snacks. Other items include characters drawn as daruma dolls and horses to tie in to the 2026 zodiac animal.
You can shop for these new items at various gift shops throughout the parks, including Bon Voyage outside by the Ikspiari shopping area.
New Year’s Food and Drinks at Tokyo Disney Resort
Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea offer a variety of specialty food and drinks available only during the event period. Oden will be served at The Gazebo in Disneyland and at Hudson River Harvest in DisneySea. The comforting Japanese soup contains daikon radish, fish cakes, sausage, konnyaku yam cake and sweet potato gnocchi shaped like Mickey.
Other exclusive menu items include the kinako mousse and milk jelly dessert, and mochi and minced duck meat soup (available only January 1 to 5).
