On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, guests staying at Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Gujo are invited to enjoy a special doburoku and amazake tasting event, presented in collaboration with the Gujo Yamato Doburoku Festival Committee.
Doburoku is an unfiltered, rustic version of sake, packed with rich umami, natural sweetness and nutrients like amino acids and vitamins. Gujo city in Gifu Prefecture is designated as a doburoku special zone, meaning local farmers and producers can craft small batches using their own rice. This event offers a rare opportunity to sample award-winning doburoku from three local breweries — all recognized at the 2023 National Doburoku Competition.
Alongside tastings, guests can meet the brewers and, if desired, purchase local specialty foods to pair with the drinks.
