If you’ve ever wanted to try curling — the sport affectionately known as “chess on ice” — here’s your chance. Fairfield by Marriott’s Michi-no-Eki Project is hosting a hands-on curling experience in collaboration with Donkoro Outdoor School on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
Curling is easy to pick up, fun to play and perfect for anyone looking to experience winter the Hokkaido way. Instructors will walk participants through everything from posture to gameplay, followed by mini matches where you can test your skills. Expect strategy, teamwork and that uniquely thrilling moment when your stone glides into the house.
Winners receive regional specialty goods from Michi-no-Eki locations across Japan — a perfect souvenir to take home with your victory.
