Spend Christmas with Japan’s Top Jazz Players

The crossover jazz unit Cityy (stylized as CITYY), which launched in May 2025, will make its first appearance at Blue Note Place.

The ensemble blends genres and transcends borders. Made up of four of Japan’s leading jazz players, Cityy features Miho Terachi (saxophone, flute and vocals), Ami Nakazono (saxophone and vocals), Marie Takeda (keyboard and vocals) and Juna Serita (bass and vocals) for a powerhouse quartet. The performance will also include Ryoma Tada on drums.

Miho Terachi started playing classical piano at just six years old. She discovered the alto saxophone during her time in high school brass band. Since then, she’s performed in Manhattan’s live music venues, been selected as a finalist for Sapporo’s City Jazz Concert for two consecutive years, released chart-topping albums and toured in nationwide concerts.

Ami Nakazono has also studied and performed in New York and in Japan. Nakazono combines her classical background with jazz sensibility as a next-generation saxophone player. Marie Takeda studied at the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and trained jazz piano technique under George W. Russell Jr. Takeda released her first album, “Over,” earlier this year and has also garnered attention for her high fashion sense.

Juna Serita is a bassist with a one-of-a-kind sound. Serita has appeared in television commercials and received high praise for all six of her currently released albums.

Together, these jazz masters create an unforgettable sound. Celebrate Christmas together with Cityy and fill the holy night with incomparable music.
