Jazz Masters Make Their Return to Cotton Club
Grammy-winning orthodox jazz pianist Bill Charlap will be performing with his trio at Cotton Club for the first time in seven years.
The son of Moose Charlap, composer of the hit musical Peter Pan, and cabaret singer Sandy Stewart, Bill Charlap has been fascinated by music since childhood. His cousin Dick Hyman was also the composer of numerous Woody Allen films. Charlap began his career as a jazz musician in the 1980s. His work has appeared on numerous prestigious labels, including Blue Note. Charlap recently released a collaborative album with Dee Dee Bridgewater this past summer titled, “Elemental.”
In this performance, Bill Charlap will be playing piano alongside David Wong on bass and Kenny Washington on drums. Experience the power of jazz at close range with this master trio.
