The Smooth Sounds of an Acclaimed Bassist
Grammy award-winning bassist Ben Williams will make an appearance with his band at the Cotton Club for a special 3-night show.
Performers will include Ben Williams on bass, Brandon Coleman on piano and keyboard, Justin Brown on drums, Andrew Renfroe on guitar and Chelsea Baratz on saxophone.
Williams recently released Between Church and State, the soundtrack album for a short film featuring artists like Kamasi Washington and Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah. In 2009, he won the globally prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition and has performed with Pat Metheny, David Sanborn, Robert Glasper and Sadao Watanabe. He also demonstrated his talent as a singer-songwriter with the song “I Am a Man,” released on Jose James’s Rainbow Blonde label.
