A Taste of Italian and Japanese Summer
Starting June 3, the new head chef of Gucci Osteria, Raffaella De Vita, has introduced a brand-new tasting menu with the theme of “Mediterranean and Japanese Summer,” blending Italian and Japanese culinary traditions.
Highlights of the dining menu include:
- Raffaella’s Caprese: A summer reinterpretation of her signature Parmigiana, inspired by the Italian appetizer Caprese, featuring three types of tomato sauce and mozzarella cream sauce.
- Unagi in my Hometown: Eel served Italian-style, subtly sour and mildly sweet with balsamic vinegar and served with pickled zucchini and zucchini and cream purée. (Available until end of July)
- Ananas: A refreshing summer dessert that’s a twist on the classic pineapple and walnut upside-down cake, with Okinawan pineapple, decorated with Puglian almonds.
- Three Tomato Spaghetti: Homemade pasta with red, yellow and green tomato sauces. (Available on the à la carte menu)
The terrace menu also features summer-only items:
- Shaved Ice Sicilian Style with Brioche: A blend of Sicilian granita and Japanese shaved ice, with three types of melon sauce. The cantaloupe gelato and vanilla and white wine jelly inside continues to surprise the palate.
- Seasonal Parfait Mango: A parfait with fresh mango, verbena, vanilla, mango passion gelato and almond crumble.
