Urusei Yatsura Cafe & Pop Up Store

The much loved sci-fi comedy manga and anime celebrates it’s 40th anniversary with a pop up shop and café at Ikebukuro Parco. Rumiko Takahashi’s manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from 1978 to 1987, telling the story of average high school boy Ataru Moroboshi becoming accidentally betrothed to cute and sexy oni alien Lum. Urusei Yatsura has spawned various adaptations and abundant merchandise delighting generations of fans who fell for the story’s quirky mix of Japanese folklore and science fiction, not to mention Lum’s iconic striped bikini. The café offers Urusei Yatsura character-themed dishes and drinks with collectable coasters, in addition to a selection of new and limited goods in the shop.
