Tsuyoshi Nigamushi has a long-standing presence in Tokyo’s urban art landscape with a reputation that trailblazes internationally, too. Known for his upbeat contemporary take on character illustrations, the painter and art director’s work overlaps between various layers of visual design, from branding and logo down to original items. “That Girl” series depicts quirky girls with a myriad of expressions that tugs visitors back to some of Nigamushi’s earlier drawings. Working with mediums ranging from watercolors, spray art to gouache, these pieces lend an impish charm and overall solidify his funky stylistic composition.
