Chill poetry reading and sunlight basking on a lazy afternoon — come celebrate the release of Tokyo Poetry Journal‘s tenth issue in Yoyogi Park with the best creative folks in town. Founded in 2015, the biannual publication has created a much-needed intersectional space for international and local poets in Japan. The latest volume is birthed during the mid-pandemic summer of 2020 as a “ray of light in dark times,” now to be delivered to the world. Readers include Poetry Slam Japan champion Oshima Takeo, Steven Karl, Todd Silverstein, Taylor Mignon, Jordan A. Y. Smith and many more. Visitors must bring their own bottle and blanket to the park. Reservations are required as the books (available for ¥1,500) will be brought based on RSVPs.
Please note that the event may be canceled in the case of heavy rain. TW encourages you to check for any notices on the day prior to visitation.
