Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra New Year Concert 2018
As the new year begins and the Japanese festivities continue, you can experience the uplifting and relaxing sounds of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. The annual New Year concerts at Bunkamura Orchard Hall are a highly regarded staple of the classical calendar and a popular event. This year’s title theme is “Memorable melodies you’ve heard somewhere, sometime.” Led by conductor Tetsuro Ban with pianist Ikuyo Nakamichi, this year the orchestra will perform Johann Strauss II’s “The Bat Overture” from Die Fledermaus, Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto No. 1, 1st Movement,” Bolero by Ravel and more. A perfect evening of elegant entertainment to spend with your family or friends.
