Started in 2008 by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Arts Council, this popular event which receives about 230,000 visitors is a tea gathering where foreigners and Japanese people alike can enjoy various styles of tea ceremony. The event also welcomes beginners who want to learn more about the ancient Japanese tradition. In addition to indoor and outdoor tea ceremonies, there will also be a tea ceremony in English.
The event is held over two days with dozens of slots for tea ceremony per day. Tickets must be reserved in advance. See here for details.
