Three Rakugo Stories in English and Japanese

Comedy, Live Streaming, Traditional Events

Experience the traditional performing art of Japanese storytelling in person or online. Rakugo is a form of entertainment dating back to the Meiji Era where a seated performer tells a long, complicated and, usually comical story with expressive voices and minimal props. It’s rare to find rakugo events in English but this small company holds irregular gatherings throughout the year. Three stories will be performed by Kanariya Eiraku. If you feel comfortable attending in person the event will be held on the third floor event hall of Coconeri mall next to Nerima station, however the show will also be broadcast live via Zoom (registration required in advance) for remote viewing.
