Story of a Tiger Pantomime

In this Japan-Malawi-Italy collaboration, Malawian actor Mbene Mwambene performs Italian playwright Dario Fo’s dramatic monologue, “Story of a Tiger,” in English. The pantomime performance is an African interpretation based on anti-government riots in 2011. Each day will see a Japanese artist competing with Mbene’s African interpretation and so the first half of each performance will be in Japanese and the second half in English. Following each performance there will be a talk on Malawi with an opportunity to taste freshly roasted Malawian coffee from Seibo. A Q&A with the actors will also take place after the show.
