Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2019
One of the largest film festivals in Asia returns with hundreds of free screenings across the city from late May to mid June. The long-running festival features short films of all genres from all over the world, including drama, documentary, animation, horror, experimental, fashion films and music videos. The 2019 edition follows the theme “Cinematic Attitude” and has selected around 200 films from 130 countries to make up its impressive and diverse selection. In addition various competition categories the event includes special themed programs such as Diversity, War and the Power to Live and Child Actors as well as Academy Award winners and nominees. In addition this year welcomes the newly established Ladies for Cinema Project focusing on female directors, and the U-25 Project supported by Nihon Safety Co., Ltd.
Screenings and events are held at a variety of venues across the city, including Shidax Culture Hall, Itscom Studio & Hall, Andaz Tokyo, Andaz Studio and Roppongi Hills Cafe.
