Raien Sumo Training Experience
Ever wondered what it would be like to get into the ring with a real sumo wrestler? Now’s your chance, thanks to this unique training experience. You’ll be able to take part in a training session that lets you see what a real sumo workout feels like – and what it feels like to go to toe to toe with wrestlers who weigh more than 100kg! The training experience is open to men and women, and children from 10 years and older are welcome.
For the training session, please bring knee-length track pants, sweat pants, or shorts, and a bath towel if you want to take a shower afterwards. A small towel and a bottle of water will be provided. Do not wear glasses to the training session.
Photos and video will be taken at the training session, but if you don’t want to be photographed or filmed, let the training staff know.
Please be on time to the session! If you don’t know how to get to the Subaru Sports Complex, training session staff will be at JR Mitaka Station (in front of the ticket gate, by the Midori no Madoguchi ticket office) at 12:00pm to show you how to get to the taxi/bus stop. Please take a bus or taxi to the sports center from Mitaka Station.
The training session is open to 10 people, so make your reservation quickly! To apply for a space, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
1. Full Name
2. Email address
