Photographer Saul Leiter: A Retrospective
Saul Leiter (1923-2013), “the pioneer of color photography”, went from greatness as a leading fashion photographer in New York from the 1950s to the 1980s, to virtually unknown after he retired in the 1980s. A collection of work published in 2006 (when he was 83 years old) in Germany with Steidl Verlag led to a rediscovery of his works, causing a bis sensation in the art world. A documentary film, “In No Great Hurry: 13 Lessons in Life with Saul Leiter”, released in 2012 further solidified his fame around the world. In this exhibition, photographic works (both monochrome and color), paintings and other material will be on display, courtesy of the Saul Leiter Foundation.
