Opera Arias Concert at the New National Theatre Tokyo
Fancy an afternoon of opera arias at Japan’s only national theatre? We’ve got two pairs of tickets to give away to readers for an event being held at the New National Theatre Tokyo on Wednesday, September 26 at 3pm. However, there’s an interesting catch to this performance. The aim of the event is not only to invite the audience to a concert of opera arias, but also to perform an evacuation drill during the show.
This presents an opportunity for the public to feel better prepared in the event of fire or earthquakes, but also for the theatre to improve its evacuation plans after observing how the audience reacts. While watching the concert, there will be an unannounced evacuation drill, during which audience members will exit the building. After the drill, audience members will be able to return to their seats and continue watching the show.
The concert will be performed at the New National Theatre Playhouse by PIVOT!, a group that consists of graduate opera singers from the NNT Opera Studio.
To win one of two pairs of tickets, please email your name and postal address to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, September 14.
