Artwork by Japanese manga artist Takeshi Obata

Obata Takeshi – Never Complete

Tokyo’s Arts Chiyoda offers a rare chance to see the original artwork of Takeshi Obata, the legendary artist behind smash-hit manga series including Hikaru no GoDeath Note and Bakuman. Organized by publisher Shueisha to celebrate 30 years since Obata made his debut in much-loved magazine Weekly Shonen Jump with the series Cyborg Jii-chan G, the exhibition gathers around 500 pieces from the artist’s extensive personal archive. The title, “Takeshi Obata – Never Complete,” is a nod to the quest for perfectionism that this unique talent constantly brings to his creations.
