NNTT Play: “Morning Disappearance”
Written for the New National Theatre Tokyo by renowned Japanese playwright and director Ryuta Horai, this is a brand-new play that marks the final production directed by Keiko Miyata during her eight-year tenure as NNTT’s Artistic Director of Drama. The play centers around Sadao, a writer who hasn’t seen his family in five years. After Sadao decides to write “the honest truth” about his family, he reveals unexpected events that happen behind closed doors. The play is performed in Japanese and examines the nature and confrontational dynamics of family politics.
