NNTT at Home – Opera Asters
Indulge in a night at the opera, without leaving the sofa. For theater lovers, performing arts fanatics or anyone looking for some culture to keep them captivated while staying home this month, the New National Theatre, Tokyo is continuing its free streaming service to share some of its magnificent productions for a limited time. For one week only, viewers can enjoy Opera Asters directed by by Kazushi Ono and produced by Yoshi Oida. The new Japanese opera is composed by Akira Nishimura and is based on a novel by Jun Ishikawa. The opera tells the story of a fierce young man struggling with his inner desires through a fantastical world.
The performance is sung in Japanese with English subtitles.
