Moonlight Dance: A Contemporary Noh Theater Performance

By

October 5, 2022
12:00–・Oct 11, 2022–Oct 11, 2022・Former Kishi Residence 1082-1 Higashiyama, Gotemba City

This traditional Japanese theater performance stands out in multiple ways. It’s a co-production between the Umewaka family and the Toraya Group, both with over 400 years of lineage in their respective industries. The Umewaka is renowned for its long line of Noh theater masters, while Toraya Confectionery is a renowned confectionery group that makes wagashi (Japanese) sweets.

Moonlight Dance is also a multigenerational collaboration. The contemporary Noh play is choreographed by Naohiko Umewaka and his daughter Soraya Umewaka is the artistic director.

The play is staged in the Kishi Residence in Higashiyama and will have a lunch showing at noon and a dinner showing at 5pm.

Note: Bento ticket set has sold out at the time of this writing.
