MOMAT Collection

Art

This MOMAT exhibition introduces currents in Japanese modern and contemporary art from the beginning of the 20th century to the present along with a variety of works from other countries. The exhibition hosts masterpieces selected from the museum collection and have been curated as such to enable viewers to see the relationship between art and society in each era from a wide range of perspectives.

In addition to design and crafts associated with a widespread passion for ancient artifacts that occurred during the 1950s and 1960s, MOMAT presents a special exhibit related to the exhibition Takahata Isao: A Legend in Japanese Animation and a small exhibit entitled Emancipation of Humanity: Focusing on Works by Female Artists.
