moki: “ABWESENHEIT”

Art

Born in 1982 in Brilon, Germany, Berlin-based artist moki launches her third solo exhibition at Hiromart Gallery. Her paintings are a contemporary rendition of the nearly 100-year-old surrealist movement. Pulling inspiration from her own life and transposing them on canvas, moki’s work blurs the lines between reality and mind, creating hauntingly beautiful scenes that resonate with Dali’s dream-like landscapes in a modern way. A graduate of the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg, moki’s artwork has been exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions in North America, Europe and Asia.
