The iconic Disney mascot is the focus of this art exhibition looking at Mickey’s legacy in the past, present and future. Mickey Mouse first appeared in the the Walt Disney cartoon ‘Steamboat Willie’ back in 1928 and has since become a hugely popular character recognized all over the world. As the animated masterpiece Fantastia reaches it’s 80th anniversary, Mickey – The True Original & Beyond celebrates the history and evolution of the beloved character. As well taking a look back in history, you can also discover Mickey as a pop culture icon through artworks and installations by 20 international contemporary artists. In addition, five young Japanese artists present works that consider the future of ‘Mickey Mouse’. Artists include Brian Roettinger, Daniel Arsham, James Jean, Keiichi Tanaami, London Kaye and Tetsuya Nomura. Limited edition goods will be available.
