Meguro River Illuminations
Winter Cherry Blossoms light the way along the Meguro river as part of the area’s seasonal illuminations. Thousands of LED bulbs decorate the tree lined avenue along the section of the river located between Gotanda and Osaki stations. These environmentally conscious illuminations are powered entirely by self generated energy made from locally collected edible oil waste converted into biodiesel fuel. Pink illuminations are a common festive trend in Japan’s season of romance, but with the area so well known for it’s numerous cherry trees, there is nowhere more fitting for a twinkling rose tinted winter date. And if you are already longing for spring then at least you can enjoy some artificial sakura which will stay shining into the night!
