Loko Gallery × MOAO: The National Monogatari, Okutama – December’s Aurora

Art

This two-person collaborative exhibition is the second of its kind at Loko Gallery. This one features the works of Masahiro Wada and Tomohiro Nagahata, in which the two artists question their respective art forms.

Wada is known for installations, performances, sculptures and video, all mediums that will be showcased during this exhibition. An attempt to blend the traditional forms of “movie” and “art” and to question them, Wada’s most notable piece is a real-time video of a movie production that will gradually progress over the course of the exhibition.

Nagahata is a sculpture and manga artist. Centered around the similar theme of blending mediums, in this exhibition sculptures made of various unexpected materials will be showcased. Some of them also include references to the latest manga trends and commentary of the industry.

Opening reception: December 13 | 18:00
