Les contes d’Hoffmann (Opera)
Settle in for a good few hours of superb opera. Sung in French with Japanese subtitles, the whimsical and fantastical love story of “Les contes d’Hoffmann” (The Tales of Hoffmann) runs for almost four hours (including intervals). The story centers around the tortured poet Hoffmann who recounts the tales of his three great loves. As part of New National Theatre, Tokyo’s 20th anniversary season, this production is led by Philippe Arlaud, with music by Jacques Offenbach.
