Katsushika Iris Festival
A breathtaking sea of purple and white decorates Mizumoto Park each year during the Iris Festival. Over 100 varieties can be found amongst the approximately 14,000 flowers. On a sunny day the park will attract thousands of visitors wanting to snap a picture of the delightful view, so plan carefully and go early if you don’t want your appreciation of nature to be too disrupted by shutter sounds and slow moving crowds. The festival also includes another 6,000 flowers thriving at a nearby second location, Horikiri Shobuen Iris Garden, which has been a popular spot since Edo times, inspiring numerous artistic creations with its beauty.
