Institut français du Japon – Night of Philosophy
La Nuit de la Philo is part of a series of Night of Philosophy or Night of Ideas events which have taken place across the globe, aiming to create a dialogue between art and philosophy, movement, forms and thoughts. This year marks the 5th edition in Tokyo with a central theme of “games.” Visitors can enjoy workshops, talks, films, installations and live music by some of France’s leading contemporaries at various locations throughout the Tokyo Institute. Guest speakers will include Dominique Lestel, Koichiro Kokubun and Bernard Stiegler (but note that talks will be in either Japanese or French). Switch Research Institute will present a outside performance and the gallery space will be showing video work by Bertrand Planes and more. The Brasserie terrace will host a “theatrical and culinary installation” by Gilles Stassart before electronic musician Pierre Mottron captivates the audience with a sure-to-be spectacular set from 9pm.
