An authentic Italian restaurant, that is owned by a German and was established in Hawaii, is now moving to Tokyo. Il Lupino Prime opens its doors in the trendy Tokyo district of Kita-Aoyama on July 1. Guests can enjoy a wide range of sumptuous plates such as USDA Prime T-Bone steak, handmade pizza, pasta and seafood. High quality ingredients include fresh beluga caviar and truffles. There’s also a terrific selection of cocktails and wine to choose from.
The shop is co-owned by Wolfgang Zwiener, founder of the world-famous Wolfgang Steakhouse, and his son Peter. Lupino means “little wolf” in Italian, which was the nickname Wolfgang was given in Italy due to his ravenous appetite. “Our goal is to make this the best Italian restaurant in Tokyo,” said Peter at a tasting session this week.
