Hiroo Uchimizu 2019
Head to Hiroo to cool off with the summertime water sprinkling tradition. Uchimizu is the act of splashing water onto the hot ground in summer to keep down dust and cool down the streets through water vaporization. Usually this is done by individuals outside their home or business but in recent years, environmental schemes promote mass sprinkling events advocating the use of recycled or reclaimed water only. This event focuses on getting children involved with local young applicants running through a gauntlet of water, in addition to food stalls, crafts and games bringing a festival feeling.
