Oil painting by Hideki Tarui at Hiromart Gallery in Tokyo

Hideki Tarui – Flapping Colors

Art

Tokyo-based artist Hideki Tarui launches his second solo exhibition at Hiromart Gallery displaying paintings that portray the theme of floating-feeling. Tarui uses the motifs of birds and butterflies with wings spread wide along with colors and lines to provide a sense of motion. Born in Tokyo, Tarui graduated from Tama Art University, where he focused on oil painting, in 2012. An active artist, his works have been selected for prizes at multiple art competitions and he has held several solo exhibitions in Tokyo.
