A Gold Book: Andy Warhol
A Gold Book is one of Andy Warhol’s earliest works and was originally created as a promotional book with a gold cover. It showcases Warhol’s blotted line technique where he draws on a sheet of paper with ink that transfers onto a second sheet, resulting in broken and uneven lines. Although he is known for his photographs in his later works, the delicate lines and use of color in A Gold Book showcase Andy Warhol’s oft-forgotten gift as a draftsman and reveal a more sensitive side of the artist. Single-origin coffee and Japanese tea will be served at the adjoining coffee stand, Artless Craft Tea & Coffee.
