The British artist Francis Bacon was one of the most prominent and influential figurative artists of the 20th Century. This exhibition focuses on roughly 130 early works that Bacon secreted away in his lifetime. The works on display help to chart some of his early inspirations and artistic developments. This is the first time they will be exhibited in Japan and they promise a glimpse into Bacon’s production process – something he never intended to be public. Please note that the temporary closure of the museum has been extended until March 7. While it currently plans to open after this date, check before you go.
