Emi Kuraya: In Search of a Lull

Japanese artist Emi Kuraya launches her latest solo exhibition, In Search of a Lull, a series of girls painted on canvas, with each piece born from dark feelings and experiences, and representing the light hiding inside the darkness. After holding a solo exhibition at Hidari Zingaro and becoming represented by Kaikai Kiki in 2018, Kuraya gained further popularity through her participation in Hong Kong Art Basel and Frieze New York this year. The artist is currently completing a degree in oil painting at the Tama Art University Department of Painting.
