doraemon painting by Takashi Murakami

The Doraemon Exhibition Tokyo 2017

Doraemon has been delighting fans across Japan and all over the world since 1970, spawning decades of merchandise, movies, stage plays, expos and even art exhibitions. A selection of some of Japan’s most popular artists have been commissioned to create Doraemon related works, based on their personal memories, to bring people together in a celebration of the much loved earless robotic cat. This might not be your typically familiar Doraemon world but fans of all ages should be delighted to see their favorite characters from fresh and exciting new perspectives.

The 28 artists and groups include Makoto Aida, Takashi Murakami, Kayo Ume, ShiShi Yamazaki, Yoshitomo Nara, Mika Ninagawa, Sebastian Matsuda, Nozomi Watanabe, Tomoko Konoike, Motohiko Odani and many more.
