The Dinosaur Expo 2019

Expos, Family Attractions

This exhibition looks back at the past 50 years of paleontological history, commemorating the important naming of the Deinonychus in 1969. John Ostrom’s 1969 findings triggered a new era of dinosaur research and founded the now widely believed idea that birds are the descendants of dinosaurs. Real fossils and whole body skeletons will be on display, including the Mukawaryu, Japan’s largest complete dinosaur skeleton, found in Hokkaido. Find out more about the remarkable findings of the last five decades and learn about dinosaur parenting, gender, extinction and more.
