This event commemorates the sixth anniversary of his death by offering fans a unique chance to get reacquainted with Bowie’s work while in the heart of Shibuya.
David Bowie was to the ’60s and ’70s what Elvis Presley was to the ’50s. His 1969 and 1972 albums Space Oddity and Ziggy Stardust made the rock n’ roll star a global sensation. Bowie repeatedly transformed and reinvented himself, and consequently elevated the rock genre into an art form. Undoubtedly, Bowie was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
From 2004, the star took a nine-year hiatus to focus on his health. In 2013, he made a stellar comeback with the release of The Next Day. On January 8 2016 Bowie released what would be his last album, Blackstar (stylized as ★) before succumbing to liver cancer.
