Cinco de Mayo 2019
Come join the Mexican festival fun at Cinco de Mayo to be held at Arakawa for the first time. Started in Yoyogi Park in 2013, revelers can celebrate the holiday with Mexican and South American flavors, cervezas, tropical cocktails, live entertainment – including family-friendly group participation events – and a traditional craft market. Cinco de Mayo means May 5 in Spanish, a day celebrated in Mexico to commemorate the Battle of Puebla when a small team of Mexican fighters defeated a large French army. The traditional festivities became a popular event in the USA and beyond, even reaching Japan where this lively event has now become an international attraction.
